Meaning of Dreams

Why should you be concerned about the meaning of your dreams?

"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens." ~ Carl Gustav Jung, Swiss psychiatrist, psychologist and founder of the Analytic Psychology, 1875-1961.

First, it is important to realize that often our conscious minds are in denial, distracted with daily activity and misguided with erroneoius messages and early mental programs. This happens due to comtemporary institutions and early childhood. Often dreams are the means to overcome this through abstract revelations.

When we are in the relaxed REM dream state our unconscious mind is abstractly communicating meaning. The dream mechanism provides a way to solve problems and discover creative answers. Also, there are sometimes spiritual meanings being conveyed to us too. The Bible is full of examples of how God and angels have communicated profound messages through dreams. How could there be any more meaning in life than that?

Many famous Psychiatrists, like Freud and Jung understood that there is meaning in dreams and much research has be done about discovering dream meanings. In fact, it is a powerful therapeutic tool.

The first step is to identify the key symbols you remember from your dream. Dream symbols can be nouns (things or persons), verbs (actions or behaviors) or adjectives (descriptions or feelings). Were the main characters people or animals? Was a color or number a common theme? What was the weather like? What was the time of day? Were you looking for a lost item, or running from an attacker? Was it an earthly voice or a spiritual voice?

Look up your key dream symbols and themes in our Dream Dictionary or use the Google search to find more meanings. Also, ask yourself what the overall themes of the dream are as part of your analysis. Remembering these symbols are the key to interpreting your dreams.

SpiritCommunity is a guide that makes finding the meanings to your dreams fast and easy by providing you with awesome free online tools!

Remember that a dream unifies the body, mind, and spirit and provides you with insight into our subconscious, a means for self-exploration and often messages from the spiritual or God. By understanding your dreams, you will have better meaning in life, self awareness and discovery of deeper truths. So spend some time on our website -- explore, discover, have fun, use our Google search, and discover the meanings in your dream!
